James G. McConnell

Mr. McConnell drafted specialized front end contract terms combining a design/bid/build model for general construction with a prepurchased structural steel fabrication and delivery program to accommodate quantity steel purchases for this and several other public school construction projects under the auspices of the Chicago Public Schools.

Mr. McConnell also handled the negotiation and documentation of the settlement of claims against the contractor for failure and collapse of prefabricated hollow core concrete floor panels during construction of the building, to provide for the cost of future inspection and repairs should any of the panels installed before the failure be found to contain similar fabrication flaws.
